MFK Consulting and Coaching
Who has a more fierce struggle than the person who strives to master themselves? And this must be our occupation: to strive to master ourselves, to grow stronger and advance from good to better every day. You have to be your own Avenger.
The sun makes no distinction where it shines, let it shine!

Change is work, work is peace
We are all fearfully and wonderfully made.

Collaboration
Like anything in life that can be sustained - work is required. Slogans and inspirational quotes are great, but it is focused accountability that creates personal dividends. We will talk about the things that drive the decisions we make and the work necessary to eliminate the decisions that work against our self-interest.

Discernment
It's as old as time, but the concept is relevant today, perhaps more than ever: Discernment. Simply put, Discernment is the critical process of looking at the different experiences we encounter in life and learning how to pull the essential truths from those experiences so that we are constantly creating our best selves.

AboutAs I have grown older I have come to realize that what I need is more effort and fewer excuses
Over the past 30 plus years of my professional and “personal” career I have been fortunate to develop communication skills and personal awareness while working as a teacher, lawyer, therapist, consultant, athletic trainer and mentor. In the diversity of my experience I discovered the effort involved in “building another” is far and away the most important and rewarding work anyone can do. Here is where we understand how our experiences shape us as opposed to control us. In essence, it is the difference between learning instead of gathering information.
At this fundamental level change takes place. By recognizing the interaction of our language, motivation and behavior on a daily basis we can implement the change necessary to succeed the way we envision. In my professional capacity, I have worked in prisons, corporate settings, court rooms, drug and alcohol treatment centers, sober houses, junior high schools, professional and amateur athletics and found this rule at play in each and every setting. It is no surprise that this same rule is at the heart of volunteer work I’ve done, be it working with victims of human trafficking or those in homeless shelters. The rule crosses all spectrums; in a nutshell, know thyself.
For a number of years, I have worked as what I refer to as an “intuitional organizational” consultant. Through the application of a number of techniques involving language, motivational assessment and behavioral inventory, I assist individuals in finding those “experiences” or more accurately, the behaviors that hold them back from being the best version of themselves. Just as an athlete develops their body to be the best in their sport, the corollary of that physical work is the “mind” work that is essential in the journey to the heart of who we are. Here is where I can assist the individual to pinpoint these issues and assist in resolving the behavioral elements that hold them back from being what they envision.
This analysis is integral to building our most important muscle, a strong mind. In the past five years I transitioned from a successful law practice of 20 plus years to focus on individual development in all capacities, be it entrepreneurs, lawyers, amateur and professional athletes, actors, writers, and musicians –people from all walks of life. It is my intention to use the experience I have gained over the past thirty years in my professional and volunteer life to work with those that are ready to push through the behaviors and beliefs to create true and better selves.
